Soul Journal - Advent Calendar

I know..... I've been hibernating.... I would love to tell you that all is well and wonderful. I would love to tell you that I've just been sooooo busy, that I haven't had a moment to post. Those things, unfortunately, are not true. All is not ..... bad. They are not good. lol....
I think I'm still in my holiday recovery mode. I'm not sure.
I haven't posted in so long, I thought I would drop a quick notes of what I'm up to. Pathetic when I haven't written in so long...and still don't have anything to write about. Guess that's a sign of the 40 around the corner, huh? The year life slows down and I become... boring! lol

I did finish two books, finished some notes in a Bible study journal, been to an "in-betweeners" meeting at church and considering joining the newly forming "committee", falling waaaayy behind at work (which is totally stressing me out) due to all the days we were closed during the holidays, and we've been to lots and lots of movies (Bedtime Stories, Yes Man, Seven pounds and of course Marley & Me)

Anyway... I've been working on the advent calendar prompt in my soul journal and here's what I have so far.... I think my journal is a little smaller than what most soul sisters are working in. I had to break my days into four pages, six per page. I'm still working on them and will update the pic when they are finished.

My goals in the next few weeks coming: Get caught up in my soul journal. Make some background papers in my original art journal. Make some mixed media 4x4's. Strip this awful wallpaper in my "computer room", and maybe even begin a new canvas. Get a new book scrapbook for my youngest son and start a new book that I got from a co-worker for Christmas. ("Black" the first book of a series)

Are we taking bets on what gets done and what doesn't?

Sandy, it is nice to hear from you ! Sorry that things are rough - feeling very much the same way around here. I think that it is not so much about being in the 40's ( I am 43 - please tell me there is hope !!!) as it is about not being really kind and loving towards ourselves and appreciating ourselves just as we are, that puts us in the trap ! At least that is what is going on here.

Whatever..I sure don't have all the answers, but I do know that "love is the answer to every question" and right now, I think that means some self love ! So be gentle with that beautiful soul of yours and "cradle your wounded places like precious babies" (Sark) and give yourself some loving...

Sending higs squishy hugs...

Kim said it all (I turned 40 in November) so I'll just say ditto, ditto and ditto!!
I like your list of 2009 adventures. I have some canvases they are sitting in the bag still wrapped in plastic. I took on some ohter journal challenges for january and I don't think those canvass are going to get out of that bag anytime soon :( but I'm having fun with the journals so it is all working out somehow. love your advent pages. they are lovely, i never finished all of my little inchies even.

Just getting all those Advent Calendar squares done is a HUGE accomplishment! I never did finish... It was a busy month for many of us. I'm glad you are well and got to see a few movies, read a few books. Life is too short to stress. --teri

I had the same blahs after the holiday and it took a while to get back in the swim of things. Glad you are back to posting.

I love how your advent calendar is looking. I can't wait to see the finished pages.
