New challenge

I've taken on a new challenge! See the "Embrace the face" button on my side bar. The only instructions given was to make a tree. It can be on any surface of any size, and any medium.

I picked up a 9x12 canvas at a garage sale not long ago and I've decided to give it a shot. Apart from art journaling, I've never done a collage piece and I have no idea what I'm doing! That's ok though as I'm adopting the Nike motto "just do it" and I think I'm going to enjoy this. The only thing that scares me is the name "Embrace the face!" I'm not very good....AT ALL... at faces, and I just know that will be coming, but I guess that's why it's called a challenge, right?

I started with covering the canvas in gesso and collaged some papers on it. I used some of the paper that the beautiful art book was wrapped in when I won it from Suze, along with some other music sheet paper, and also a tag from a pair of my son's jeans that we bought from JC Penny. The tag already has a metal eyelet in it that the "rope" went through to attach it to the jeans. I left that hanging off the edge on purpose with some sort of ...oh I don't know... fiber of some sort in the future, nearing the end of this unknown project and here is where I'm at so far with it.
